The worst of all This government has done more harm than good compared to all previous governments but it’s because the world doesn’t know but all they know is information like “Museveni was involved in the war that deposed Idi Amin Dada, ending his rule in 1979, and in the rebellion that subsequently led to the demise of the Milton Obote regime in 1985” The information above indicates that Museveni started the struggle way back in 70s against Amin who happens to be the third president of Uganda till in mid 80s but within that time we had some other several presidents like Mr. Binaisa, Yusuf Lule, and Tito Okello Lutwa. But Museveni didn’t not want to work with any of them and it’s further written that Museveni .” With the notable exception of northern areas, Museveni has brought relative stability and economic growth to a country that has endured decades of government mismanagement” Did I see the word government mismanagement? Hell yeah this is the word that describes Museveni government but here I see like he was being praised and I see hell no this the time the world must know that Museveni era is the worst Uganda has ever experienced more worse than even pre- colonial rule. Because I understand some sources bring information about the man who is regarded as the worst president ever Uganda has ever had but still I find it hard to keep the same verdict against him compared to what is going on in Uganda today they say “Amin's rule was characterized by gross human rights abuse, political repression, ethnic persecution, extrajudicial killings, nepotism, corruption, and gross economic mismanagement.” Is there anything that I snot happening today in this government because I was personally arrested because I moved from Mbarara to Rukungiri for a three weeks rest after elections and I had fatigue but I was arrested and tortured for three days and 4 hours. When I had my passport and other particulars but taking my case aside, we have seen people being publically shot to death, arrested and vanishing over baseless issues, I was one of the eye witnesses who saw a man being shot in one of the riots when he was begging people to open for him and the man who shoot said he shoot him when he was attempting to break and vandalize people’s property but the logic behind his shooting just remains mystery such an innocent blood more over in 20th century and decades after Amin’s rule in the government that opposed Idi Amin Dada rule. They go ahead and say this about Amin. “The number of people killed as a result of his regime is estimated by international observers and human rights groups to range from 100,000 to 500,000.” I saw the word international observers fine but I’ve tried to search for those names of people who died and I can’t find them and on top of that, we saw what happened in Rwanda and most families were affected but I’ve tried to find the families that were affected by Amin’s killings yes families are there but they can never ever sum up to that number of victims. But how many people have lost in riots alone? How many people have been harassed, embarrassed and tortured trying to peacefully express the feelings about the government, which economic growth is Uganda enjoying in this era right now and which years are we in now? We should always do and say things following change and statistics closely, compare Amin era see what he managed to achieve for the country then, compare Uganda’s development with the neighboring countries, not enough to say that this government is the worst ever look at education system now and ask you self what happened ? if Amin, Obote, Lule managed to pay for students in those years with poor economy and now what is happening when we have economic growth and more over a good one. What happened to scholarships people used to get and now who gets them? No wonder the education system curriculum is still that one that was designed by colonialists to read and write and up to now we have not seen that we need to design the education system that is more suitable to Uganda and can compete to the rest of the world but not forgetting we have ministry of education in place. Aare you still comparing this government with the past ones? This has a thousand reasons to be the worst of all, imagine over 22 years of political stability and you even fail to manage what was put in place by presidents who ruled for nine years and below and you call that success or stupidity. Thanks a lot till then I remain Nahamya Jo Stuart Mugisha Ruhombe III Former Mbarara Mp Aspirant (UFA)
